The United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) adopted language in its International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (the Covenant) review, April 2, that acknowledges the human right to clean, affordable water and the “right to life” in the face of climate impacts.The United States is scheduled for the UNHRC review of its compliance with the Covenant and this review will require compliance with this new language.
