The Supreme Court of Argentina has upheld the constitutionality of an environmental law that bans mining in glacial areas.A challenge to the law had been brought by Canada’s Barrick Gold which operates the Veladero gold mine in northwest Argentina and the Pascua-Lama mine that is on the Argentine-Chile border.
