Contemporaneously with this year's Hajj season, the government of Saudi Arabia announced investment in new water developments totalling in excess of $825 Million USD.The projects include construction of a pipeline from the desal plant at Al-Shuaibah to Makkah (also known as Mecca) and other holy sites and expansion of the desal plant, which together are estimated to cost approximately $545 Million USD, according to reportage in Arabian Business.The remaining investment is earmarked for expansion of water networks, development of reservoirs and sanitation networks, and additional connections to homes...
