Typhoon Lekima Causes Multiple Deaths, Human Displacement In China

BEIJING, China

The death tool attributed to Typhoon Lekima in Eastern China has risen to 49 with 21 reported missing as of August 12.

More than a million residents have been displaced, and 2 million suffered power outage since Lekima hit the three Chinese provinces of Zhejiang, Shandong and Anhui over the weekend, with economic losses of at least $3.7 Billion USD according to state media which reported that rainfall recorded at the weekend in Shandong province was the largest since records began in 1952.
