Spain: Malaga Province Wastewater Spill Threatens Water Supply Of Inland Towns


A river of sewage is leaking into an aquifer supplying water to towns in the province of Malaga. Dirty water is flowing into the underground water supply, which caters for the towns of Alhaurín de la Torre, Alora and Pizarra, all inland from the regional capital. Environmental group, Associacion Ciriana, said a broken wastewater pipe has caused a ‘significant loss of sewage.’
