Trump Administration Blames Homeless For California Water Woes

A 26 September letter from the US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to the Governor of California cites the agency’s concerns with the state’s slack enforcement of the US's Clean Water Act and appears to blame the state’s large homeless population, and in particular the city of San Francisco, for a variety of violations of the legislation.San Francisco Mayor London Breed denied the Trump administration's claims that used needles and other untreated waste drain into the ocean. “There is no relationship between homelessness and water quality in San Francisco," he said.The USEPA swipe might be an effort to cut off federal support for state and city programs...
