A collaborative effort of reporters, academic institutions, and media partners has revealed that, across Canada, hundreds of thousands have been unknowingly exposed to potentially dangerous levels of lead in drinking water. Sites in several cities tested higher than the worst levels in Flint, Michigan, US, which remains center of a scandal related to mismanagement of infrastructure which caused lead contamination of drinking water.The “Tainted Water Project” was a yearlong investigation that collected water test results in 11 cities in Canada. 33 percent of results exceeded Canada's national safety guideline of 5 parts per billion; 18 percent exceeded the United States’ limit of 15 parts per billion...
