Spain Will Host COP25 After Chile Backs Out; Trump Initiates US Withdrawal From Paris Accord

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has announced an offer from the Government of Spain to host United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) from December 2-13, 2019.The 1 November announcement came on the heels of Chile’s decision to pull out of the host role in the face of extended civil unrest that began in Santiago in mid-October.
