Malaysia: Further Arrests Over Palm Oil Mill River Pollution

Police have arrested 11 individuals, including a factory manager, in a raid on a palm oil processing factory in Rawang, Selangor, over the pollution of Sungai Kundang. Three locals and eight migrant workers were detained. Earlier today, three men, including a company director, were also remanded to facilitate investigations into the pollution at Sungai Kundang. Preliminary investigation by the Selangor Water Management Authority found that the pollution was caused by a biodiesel substance, suspected to be from the Kundang Jaya industrial area.
